International Relations

Office for supporting study-related stays abroad

The International Relations office supports students in the Department of Economics and Business Engineering during their study abroad. The support is aimed at students of the Department of Economics and Business Engineering as well as students of universities overseas. All other people belonging to the Department (e.g. lecturers, administration staff) can also contact the International Relations office with questions on studying abroad.


The International Relations office is manned in part time (core working hours are Tuesday to Friday 2 pm to 4 pm), consultation hours are on Tuesdays 12:15 - 13:15. Foreseeable exceptions will be published at News and Dates.

You can reach us by telephone, by e-mail and in person in the office. For consultations outside normal hours, please make an appointment if possible. You can also use the mail box in Building 20.13 to hand in documents.

Areas of responsibility

  • Advice and information relating to studying abroad
    The International Relations office can offer you an overview of the opportunities for a study-orientated stay overseas and provide specific advice. The International Relations office is also there for you during your time abroad.
  • Incoming exchange students
    Guest students from partner universities overseas are welcome to approach the International Relations office with all study-related questions - for instance to change their learning agreements.
  • Carrying out the selection procedure
    For some programmes the International Relations office selects applicants in cooperation with the internal Department committee "International Student Exchange", for instance for the ERASMUS programme within the Department and the Intercultural Enhancement Programme.
  • Supporting the Institutes
    The International Relations office supports the institutes and central organisations in all themes relating to study overseas and provides information about new developments.
  • Further development of the ERASMUS network and other partnerships
    The International Relations office is constantly checking new and existing partnerships in order to optimise the network of selected partner universities. Public relations are also essential to guarantee the quality of the network.
  • Conceptional development
    The International Relations office handles the conceptional development of international relations on behalf of the Department and the development of integrated programmes with universities overseas. For this it cooperates closely with the internal Department working group for study abroad.
