Team project ‘Economics and Technology’ in the summer semester of 2026

Working in groups of five, students tackle specific interdisciplinary problems at the intersection of economics and STEM subjects. In addition to a presentation or report, the outcome of a project is, in particular, an artifact—such as a method, an algorithm, a model, software, or a component. The team project prepares students for working in teams with diverse disciplinary backgrounds and fosters useful problem-solving skills.

The project period is the summer semester of 2026. The kick-off meeting is expected to take place in late April 2026, and the final presentations are scheduled for late July 2026.

The following projects are available for the 2026 summer semester:

  • Software for corporate carbon and financial accounting
  • DigiWork meets GenAI – Extending the DigiWork Simulation with Large Language Models
  • Heat resilience of hospitals: Development of a practical assessment tool
  • Development of an AI co-pilot for product- and production-related knowledge
  • Building a Rail Data Hub Using Web Crawlers
  • Gamification for Researching Distributed Learning in Online Mini-Games
  • FlexiHeat: Development of an App Frontend for Heating Flexibility as Part of the Heat Transition
  • Explainable AI for Disinformation Detection: Design of an AI-based assistant
